4th May- Uploading to YouTube

We created a youtube account so that we could upload our video onto the internet and could get feedback from various people. The link to our video is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJUvKnTHqUc

3rd May- Burning to DVD

Today we are burning our preliminary task and our main task to DVD so it is ready to be sent of to the exam board. On this DVD we had to write our candidate names and numbers.

1st April- Editing

In our free lessons today we started to edit the shot of the television and Stephanie together to make it look like Stephanie was appearing on the television. We dragged the image of the ghostly girl onto the television screen and then added special effects to the screen to give the appearance of the television flickering on. We then needed to find a sound effect to go along with the image. We found this from a website called 'FreeSound' and we found the sound; "50500_Gaiamuse_TV_Static". We thought that this sounded good so we put this onto a memory stick and inserted it into our footage.

31st March- Additonal Filming

Today we got a camera out, and filmed Stephanie in a white night-dress, with dark make-up running down her face, with hair on her face. We got a number of shots of her looking up at the camera. We then uploaded our footage of Stephanie onto the iMacs, and inserted it into FinalCut, ready to be edited tomorrow.

30th March - Sound

Today we added sound to our footage.

First we deleted all of the vocals that we already had in our footage and chose a sound clip that we thought went well with the footage we had.

Then we got a sound recording of a girl laughing, and edited it in GarageBand to make it sound eerie.

For the opening titles, we added in a voice recording of 'ring a ring of roses' and edited in the same way as the girl's giggling.

We then added in a mobile phone ring tone for when the girl received a message.

We are now going to go out to film the last shot of the TV, to put our footage of the girl onto the screen, and we will film the ghostly girl tomorrow.

We are still thinking of an alternative name for our horror opening that we can add onto our filming at the end. We have a few ideas but have not came to a conclusion yet.

29th March- Creating Titles.

Today we carried on adding titles into our opening, putting them over different frames with names such as actors names, director and producer. We spaced them out over different frames and by using two different colours (black & white) to create more of a sense of threat.

28th March- Creating Titles

Today as we was happy with the footage we had edited together already we decided to start creating our titles to go in our opening. We decided on a production company name and made a title for it using the program LiveType, we experimented with different effects that made it look like a horror film title. We then started to add actors names over the frames of our opening.

21st March- Editing

Today our group carried on putting a range of shots together in our opening, using a range of extreme close ups and long shots. These shots all go together in a way of showing our character getting ready to go meet her boyfriend, using close up shots showing her putting on make-up and long shots of her getting her jacket on. We also used shots like low angled shots and high angled shots to show a sense of threat and that someone is watching her.

14th March- Editing

Today our group carried on with editing some of our footage together. We used a range of shots and used some transitions to make the beginning of our opening flow better. We also looked at a sound site to see what different types of sound would go with our opening, the site we looked at was FreeSound. We looked at different sounds such as ghostly sounds and sounds that build up tension.

9th March 2011- Uploading new footage

After filming our new footage we uploaded it to our mac that we have been given for our group. We started to piece together some of our footage to see if the different shots flow together. We were happy with the editing and decided that we were going to film some more shots to begin our film with an establishing shot of the house. To also create a sense of threat we are going to film shots of a little girl to create a ghost like feeling.

9th March 2011- Filming

Today we went out to our new chosen location to re-film the start of our horror opening. We chose an inside location, to film one of our characters getting ready in her bedroom. We used a range of different shots and angles that we can experiment with when we editing. When filming we also did shots of the character jumping when she hears noises, this is creating a sense of threat.

7th March 2011

Today we decided to begin editing our footage together to see how it worked. But as we started to edit some shots together we realized that some of shots didn't really flow together, so we decided we would change the start of our filming to an inside location. This means that we have changed the story to create more sense of threat. We have bullet pointed some new ideas and camera angles that we can use to create more sense of threat and have come to the conclusion that we will completely re-film the beginning of our horror opening.

Filming- 25th February 2011

Today we had dry weather so we decided we would go out to film for our opening. Due to one of our members not being able to film for us we all took turns in filming different shots to use for our film. We used our props that we bought as they were needed in the main scences of our opening. Our shots were mainly close ups to show how well we used our props. We are now ready to upload our filming to the Macs ready for editing.

Filming- 16th February 2011

Due to rainy weather recently we havent been able to film our final scenes, as soon as we have adry day we will film our last shots for our opening.

Props

For our teen horror opening we needed to get two props to carry out our opening. The props we used were a fake knife and fake blood. We got these from our local fancy dress shop and were only cheap as we didnt need to use them for long.

30th January 2011

Today we went back out to film footage for our opening. We decided to change our time to the afternoon as last time we filmed it was too dark and the opening didnt flow aswell. We used a lot of different camera angles today and camera movements such as tracking and panning. We also decided to add on an extra scene at the start as we didnt think it would last for 2 minutes. We willl now go out next weekend to film the final scenes for our opening, which includes the props that we brought.

17th January 2011

Today we decided to go out and film more footage for our horror opening as we dont have atleast half an hour of footage yet. When we got to our location we started to film more scenes using different camera angles, as we did this because of the time we filmed at it started getting too dark so in some of our footage we decided to not use them as you couldnt see it clear. We then decided we would change the time of our opening from evening time to afternoon time, so that it is easier to view all of our footage.

12th January 2011

Today we uploaded our footage onto our computer in the media room, we looked through all of it and noticed we needed to film more. This is because we only have about 3 minutes worth of filming. We now also need to re-film the start of it as it looks to light to the rest of our footage.

11th January 2011

Today our group took out a camera to film some footage for our horror opening. We went to our chosen location after school before it started to get dark, as we wanted the lighting to be a little bit dark but a good lighting so we could still film. We stuck to our storyboards for the start of our opening but we also added in more scenes so the whole opening would flow together. It took us about an hour to get all the footage we needed, but because of the lighting we may need to go back n film the start of our opening.

6th January 2011

Today my group collected our memory card to store all our footage on for when we start to film for our horror opening. We had planned to begin filming in the christmas holidays but due to weaher conditions we post-poned it to next week after school.
